I choose these words because I feel that they are what make me. I believe I am these words or at least try to be. This year I want to show that I can be the words and be even better at the things I do and accomplish this semester.

I chose the topic Abortion, Should it be legal or Illegal? Pro-life or Pro-Choice?  Abortion is a medical procedure resulting in the termination of a human pregnancy and death of a fetus. Abortion was banned in 30 states until the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade. The ruling made abortion legal in all 50 states but gave them regulatory powers over when abortions could be performed during a pregnancy. Currently, all states must allow abortions early in pregnancies but may ban them in later trimesters. In my opinion, I cant side with either. I am in the middle because i believe that it isn’t fair for a woman to give up her own rights to her body. What if she was forced into having the baby, or something tragic happened like rape or incest. But on the other hand , I believe that the baby should have a chance at life. He or she didn’t decide to be brought in the world. I think that abortion should be legal but there should be rules. For example, If you are not older than 18 you need to have parental permission and you can not get an abortion because of the race, gender, sex or disability.

In recent discussions of abortion, a controversial issue has been whether it should be legal or illegal to get an abortion.  On the one hand, some argue that it isn’t fair for the women to make her own choices, it gives up her rights.  From this perspective, it isn’t fair for the women carrying the baby, to make her own say so, it is their baby and body. On the other hand, however, others argue that abortion is murder and the baby shouldn’t have to suffer.  In the words of one of this views main supporters, “Abortion isn’t fair   to the baby, who hasn’t done anything, its the mothers.”(Pro Con 1).According to this view, they think the baby shouldn’t be killed and have a chance in life. If The mother doesn’t want the child, she can give him/her up for adoption. There are other options.  In sum, then, the issue is whether women should have the right to kill the baby or keep it and decided what to do with it after birth. My own view is that women should have the right but only for a good enough reason and with parental permission if under 18.  Though I concede that it isn’t fair to the baby who didn’t do anything , I still maintain that it should be the mother’s decision whether to keep it or not. For example, the baby is in the mother’s body, a woman has the right to to do whatever she wants to it and inside of it. Although some might object that it is murder and unfair to the baby, I reply that it is unfair to the mother to give up her own rights for her body. The issue is important because it questions a an issue that is relevant to today, might give up women’s rights to her own body and takes into consideration if abortion is murder to an unborn baby.

Is it more unfair to the Mother Or Unborn Child?

I decided to create a McDonalds Fry container with Fries coming out of it. I chose blue for the container instead of red because blue is my favorite color. I made fries to express my love for food. It is important to me because it show cases some of my favorite things in life. I saw A lot of people in my class making their favorite items, hobbies and sports. Some people created soccer balls, basketballs, footballs. And other created symbols that stood for something they loved or are. This assignment relates to the writing process because it took a lot of brainstorm, analyzing and drafting. At first i had to think of what i wanted to create and how it was going to show who i am and what i love. And then i had to think of how i was going to make it and what colors i wanted to use. It took me a while to get it exactly the way i wanted so everyone wouldn’t have a hard time trying to figure out what it was. This is where Rhetorical Situation came in because i had to think about what i wanted everyone to see when they saw it. SO they can easily figure out what was my purpose of making it, why i chose to deign it the way i did and what was its stance. I think I chose the right to to make in the end because it shows who i am and what i love.
